The popular game show Jeopardy is no stranger when it comes to referencing popular video games, but one particular riddle has Among Us fans smiling.

p>While it's not the first time a video game has made an appearance on Jeopardy, one such recent question likely had many fans likely yelling the answer, as the question included the popular game Among Us.

While it's not a new game by any stretch, it's safe to say the popularity of the title is still going strong. Among Us first started as a mobile and PC game, but as more fans begged for the game's release on other platforms, it received many console editions, re-igniting the temptation to jump in and either save or murder everyone on board.

On an episode of Jeopardy this week, the three contestants were faced with this puzzle, "Slang adjective for someone you think is not what they seem, especially if they might be the impostor in the game Among Us." Fans of the hit game who tuned in that night couldn't shout the answer out fast enough, which is the term "sus." Short for "suspect," sus is a word used to describe someone the player suspects to be the impostor of Among Us, a role for up to three players in a game that requires them to sabotage the other crewmates' abilities to complete tasks while picking them off one by one. The game is won by murdering enough crewmates to end the voting process due to the lack of participants.

Although the word existed far before the game's introduction, it's safe to assume its popularity grew tenfold with the player base bringing it into the mainstream. It goes to show how despite the game's four-year tenure in the gaming world, Among Us still holds weight and remains relevant with continuous updates. While it's a far cry from pulling in numbers as it did in September 2020, when it averaged 438,524 players, Among Us still pulled in over 5,000 gamers this April and continues to trend upwards with multiple additions to the game. The unique play style and multiplayer-friendly action still hold a special place in the hearts of gamers who have stuck with the game since 2018 and continue to play.

While contestant Mattea Roach seemed a little reluctant in her delivery, she collected the $600 reward on the way to winning the episode with $9,599 and answering 13 of 14 questions correctly. Although she failed to correctly answer the final question of the night, she risked only enough money to guarantee her third win in as many nights. Surely, if Jeopardy ever re-creates the Gamer's Delight category, Mattea may be in a good position to collect a large sum of money early in the game.

Among Us is currently available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
