During its E3 conference, Ubisoft officially reveals Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the next installment in the long-running action-adventure stealth franchise.

p>Following a small merchandise leak, Ubisoft officially confirmed Assassin's Creed Odyssey as the newest installment in the action-adventure stealth franchise. The teaser trailer that released alongside the announcement showed a Greek soldier deliver a Spartan-style kick to another soldier, sending him over a cliff. Of course, this was only a taste of what was to come.

Ubisoft officially unveiled Assassin's Creed Odyssey during its E3 press conference and gave a few samples of its latest setting: Ancient Greece. Moreover, the trailer highlighted the odyssey of the protagonist - chosen by the player as Alexios or Kassandra - declaring that the fate of Greece followed. The historical context was also confirmed as the Peloponnesian war, revealing the game to take place around 400 BCE.

It was also revealed that the game would have dialogue choices, which suggests Ubisoft is doubling-down on the RPG elements introduced in the former installment, Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It was also revealed that the protagonist is a descendant of the Spartan hero, Leonidas, and wields his spear as a result. Check out the official reveal below:

Ubisoft's Official Line-up also includes For Honor, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Skull and Bones, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and Transference, so for those Ubisoft fans looking beyond Assassin's Creed Odyssey, be sure to check out the aforementioned reveals and content. For sure, The Division 2 and Beyond Good & Evil 2, in conjunction with the other reveals, made this an explosive Ubisoft conference.

While the above clip is certainly impressive, it remains to be seen if this latest installment will eclipse Assassin's Creed: Origins in success for the series. However, if Assassin's Creed Odyssey is as well-received as its predecessor, then this seems likely. Needless to say, however, many fans may have high hopes for Odyssey. As more is revealed, stay tuned, Ranters!

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is set to release on October 5, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
