With the start of 2018, Ubisoft provides release dates and additional details regarding all of the upcoming season pass content for Assassin's Creed Origins.

p>Following a short hiatus after deciding to take Assassin's Creed off of its annual release cycle, Assassin's Creed Origins sought to address many of the concerns from fans and critics alike. With a larger focus on RPG mechanics than previous games, the added development time appears to have paid off as reception has been positive. After releasing a few small updates through the end of last year, Ubisoft is giving fans an update as to when to expect the rest of the upcoming downloadable content packs in 2018.

According to the press release, players will be gaining access to the full slate of content on the Assassin's Creed Origins season pass within the next few months. Things kick off next week with The Hidden Ones, a story driven expansion that shows the ongoing war between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Roman forces occupying the new Sinai region. In addition, the expansion increases the level cap to 45 as well as new outfits, additional crafting levels, weapons, and gear. The content launches on January 23 for $9.99 or as part of the $39.99 season pass.

The educational and combat free Discovery Tour arrives the following month on February 20th, inviting players to free-roam Ancient Egypt to learn about its history or take part in a guided tour curated by historians and Egyptologists. The mode is free for all Assassin's Creed Origins owners and available as a standalone purchase for $19.99.

Finally, the second story-based expansion known as The Curse of the Pharaohs takes players to Thebes to investigate an ancient curse that's plaguing the area. With a focus on Egyptian mythology, players will face off against many famous Pharaohs and beasts which have been mysteriously brought back to life. This expansion pushes the level cap to 55 and adds even more weapons and gear to collect. This final expansion arrives on March 6, 2018 for season pass owners or for everyone else at $19.99.

As far, the downloadable content has been somewhat underwhelming, focusing largely on costume packs as well as small free updates. In fact, one such piece of content known as the First Civilization Pack managed to upset the community due to its $10 price tag and the fact that its just five pieces of gear. Thankfully, the upcoming DLC appears to correct that issue by offering something more substantial.

Assassin's Creed Origins is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
