Even though Nintendo has not given fans any updates since the announcement of the free ACNH 2.0 update and Happy Home Paradise DLC, the community seems quietly content in living their daily island lives. The lack of official news from the developers does not seem to deter the players' enthusiasm for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This can be seen in how active online forums and threads for the title can be, with new fan art and original creations being shared within the player base every single day.
On Reddit, user Sallymarshmallow shared some in-game images of how they were able to add their beloved pet cat Mosely into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Using the Animal Crossing: New Horizon's custom design system, they were able to customize an already existing sticker item, and formatted it after their cat's distinct features. To show off the design, they placed the sticker right by a window, likely as a way to showcase the feline's personality. Overall, even though the cat was not made into an actual animated object in ACNH, Sallymarshmallow was still able to include their furbaby in the game in another form.
Many of the replies on Sallymarshmallow's thread thought that their design was incredibly cute, and some were even inspired to create a DIY sticker of their pets as well. Others asked the Redditor how they were able to make the design, and which in-game item they customized in order to get the final product. The artist shared that they used the Glow-in-the-Dark Stickers DIY, one of the Glowing Moss DIY items that can only be found if a player has purchased the Happy Home Paradise expansion.
Even if the in-game item needed to make the customizable sticker is exclusive to the paid Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC, fans will likely consider adding the expansion to their current game. This is especially true if players want to add their beloved pets into the video game, just like Sallymarshmallow was able to.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
