Eggcode Games has released Mad Games Tycoon 2 through Steam early access, and it is worth the time for any fans of the business simulator genre.

p>Over the past couple of years, there has been a resurgence in the business simulation genre. Games like Prison Architect have whisked players off to the warden’s office, Game Dev Tycoon allowed players to run their own game company through the history of video games, and Two Point Hospital served as a spiritual successor to the cult classic Theme Hospital. Now, the indie developer Eggcode Games has launched its latest game in the genre in early access, Mad Games Tycoon 2.

Eggcode Games is no stranger to the business simulation genre. In 2016, it released Mad Games Tycoon which served as its first foray into the genre. The game brought players through the gaming industry as they ran their own company, and for many, it proved to be a much deeper simulation than its competitor Game Dev Tycoon. In 2018, Eggcode released its second title in the genre called Mad Tower Tycoon which served as a spiritual successor of sorts to SimTower. Now, it has launched Mad Games Tycoon 2 in early access and has crafted one of the most in-depth video game industry simulations to date, proving to be well worth the price.

Mad Games Tycoon 2 Delivers a Deep Simulation

Mad Games Tycoon 2 takes everything good about Mad Games Tycoon and Game Dev Tycoon but expands upon them greatly. The game starts by letting players create their character, name their company, set the difficulty, choose their skills and talents, and select a load of different settings. They are then tossed into a small garage building surrounded by buildings of various sizes that require an influx of cash to utilize.

Once the game starts, players must build all the requisite rooms before they can hit the ground running on crafting their first game. Their studio needs a development room with a desk, a bathroom so that their character can take some breaks, and a break room so that they can rest up. Once that has been built, they can get going on their first game and their journey through the gaming industry begins.

Making a game in Mad Games Tycoon 2 requires players to select a multitude of different things to create the best product possible. At the beginning, they can choose whatever title they want, choose the topic, the genre, the target audience, the platform it will launch on, and the aspects that their development team will focus on. As the game progresses the player will utilize the research room to unlock even more features like game engines, subtopics, subgenres, quality assurance teams, mocap studios, graphics studios, and sound studios. They can even monetize with microtransactions, or they can make their own version of World of Warcraft when the MMO genre is unlocked.

Once a game is released, they will receive a score and then start work on the next game, or build some DLC for their latest release. One game can make or break the studio; if it is not reviewed well, then no one will buy it and the studio will be forced to shut down. Later down the line players can even purchase other companies, publish other studios' games, sell merchandise, and make their own consoles.

Eggcode Games is Committed to Improving the Game

Eggcode Games seems committed to delivering a deep business simulator. Almost every week Mad Games Tycoon 2 receives updates to address bugs and lay the groundwork for future content. Eggcode has even provided a cohesive list of all the different suggestions and features that it wants to add to the game if it can, and the list is frequently updated.

Fans of business simulators like Two Point Hospital or Game Dev Tycoon should give Mad Games Tycoon 2 a chance. Already, it provides a pretty deep simulation of the gaming industry that takes place throughout history, and Eggcode is committed to delivering consistent content to make it the best it can be.
