In the second War Table event, Crystal Dynamics reveals substantial new beta details, content, dates, and missions for Marvel's Avengers.

p>The second War Table stream for Marvel's Avengers kicked off earlier today, giving fans another solid look at the upcoming superhero action RPG. While the first one was heavy on story and also gameplay elements such as modes like War Zone, Crystal Dynamics kept this second stream much shorter. While also revealing some post-launch news, the stream mainly focused on the upcoming beta sessions and what fans could expect.

Based on the detailed information, it appears Crystal Dynamics is planning some big things for those who decide to check out the Marvel's Avengers beta starting next week. As expected, the initial A-Day mission will be the introduction for players, serving as an anchor for the game's narrative and giving players a good look at how each hero plays. This mission features 25 minutes of gameplay ending with a boss battle against Taskmaster.

One the introductory mission is complete, the beta really begins to open up with two new single player hero missions to choose from. These missions feature Kamala Khan and Hulk as they attempt to track down JARVIS and then heading to Russia to uncover SHIELD secrets. Players will also get to face off against Abomination. Once these are done, the beta continues to open with new content.

From there, Black Widow, Iron Man, Hulk, and Kamala Khan become available to use in five different War Zone missions. These can be played solo, with AI teammates, or in multiplayer. In addition, newly announced H.A.R.M. rooms are also available to try, serving as a simple training simulators or a horde style mode where players can survive against increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Drop Zones are smaller missions from the lengthier War Zones, tasking players with getting in, finishing an objective, and getting out.

Naturally, the beta also features a bit of the full game's progression systems as well. For example, players will have access to 1 of the three skill pages for each hero. Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor was also detailed and confirmed to be his ultimate ability. PS4 pre-orders will get first crack at the beta next week when it kicks off on August 7.

In addition to the substantial amount of beta content, fans finally got confirmation that the curiously absent Avenger Hawkeye is indeed going to be the first post-launch hero added to the roster. In a stylish CG trailer, Clint "Hawkeye" Barton was shown trashing A.I.M. robots with his arrows. This version of Clint has a shaved head, a little different from his look in the comics and Jeremy Renner's take on the character in the MCU films. Crystal Dynamics confirmed that they've taken most inspiration from the recent Matt Fraction penned My Life As A Weapon comic story line.

Marvel's Avengers releases September 4 on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X to follow.
