A Pokemon fan creates a stunning art piece depicting legendary Pokemon Raikou as a robot, offering a potential electric-steel form for the monster.

p>The recent and massive success of Pokemon Legends: Arceus has Pokemon fans seriously excited for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Along with the announcement of the generation 9 titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's starters were also revealed, adding fuel to an already massive fire of hype.

However, while many fans continue to look toward the future of Pokemon as a franchise, especially with potential Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks revealing total Pokemon, other fans continue to appreciate the present games as well as past ones. This appreciation ranges from fresh playthroughs of older titles as well as art and other tributes to older Pokemon.

The latter of the two, the art and tributes, make up a large amount of the Pokemon content to be found on social media sites. These posts range from incredibly complicated works of art and sculpting to simple yet creative projects like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sprigatito stickers. Recently, a longtime Reddit artist known for their creative drawings of creatures, mechs, and Pokemon put their skills to the test, creating an unbelievable mechanical depiction of Raikou.

The artist, Reddit user shunixe, has a track record chock-full of incredibly detailed pieces that vary between menacing, awe-inspiring, and downright adorable in cases like a floofier Quaxly from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In the case of Mecha Raikou, the piece is certainly leaning towards the menacing and awe-inspiring ends of shunixe's work. Looking ready to pounce at any moment, the Mecha Raikou piece manages to incorporate every part of the original while adding small details to accentuate the mechanical side of the new creature. Frankly, this Pokemon could easily join the roster as a new form in the future as the first electric and steel-type legendary in the franchise.

Reddit users were blown away by the piece, as reflected by their comments of praise and awe. One Reddit user pointed out that Mecha Raikou could easily fit into the world of the Horizon games due to its mechanical and mammalian nature. Another user stated they would love to see mecha forms of Pokemon much like the mega evolutions given to certain Pokemon. Many other users noted that this drawing could have been pulled straight out of Digimon due to the insane transformations the monsters underwent in that franchise.

Comparisons and potential future forms aside, shunixe has once again added a stunning piece to their extensive catalog of art. Now, in the same vein as the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starter fan theory, perhaps shunixe could create some drawings of potential evolutions for the starters; or, they could mech-ify the cute little starters revealed, turning them into menacing machines like Mecha Raikou.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are set for release in 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
