Following the delay of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, WB Games should be able to focus on games like Gotham Knights and MultiVersus.

p>DC fans will have to wait at least another year until they are able to take on the Justice League in the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Following the announcement of its delay, news surrounding the highly anticipated game has all but disappeared, as other WB games like Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy have stepped into the limelight. This is far from a bad thing, however; for such an ambitious project that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is promising, having the developers take more time often means a more refined game.

Another big reason why Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice going dark is not a bad thing for WB Games is it allows the publisher to focus more on other games that are scheduled to release earlier. WB Games has three other major projects that are currently under development alongside the Suicide Squad game. These games are equally ambitious and thus, need the same time and effort to ensure that they are released as completed games.

Gotham Knights

WB Games’ second upcoming DC Comics game, Gotham Knights, will feature the Bat-Family as they learn to live in a Gotham City without Batman. This game will heavily feature team-based combat within a setting that seems similar to the Arkham series. This will mean that the developers will need to ensure that not only combat, but also exploration and characterization, are highly refined so that the game can usher in a new series for WB Games.

Gotham Knights may be a game often compared to the Arkham series; however, it has already set itself apart from the legendary Batman series. With four main characters, the game will need to give each of the characters a different playstyle, including compatible attacks to elevate the team-based gameplay. Suicide Squad going dark also lets Gotham Knights sit in the limelight as the next DC game, and the delay will give WB Games more time to focus on giving players a great Bat-Family experience.

Hogwarts Legacy

WB Games is set to have one of its best years with the release of numerous titles that could turn into successful series. Of these, the most ambitious is by far Hogwarts Legacy, the game that throws players into the world of Harry Potter and allows them to experience the thrills of being a student at the legendary school. With a large open world, a unique magic-based combat system, and tons of story and lore, the game is packed with content, and to ensure that the hype surrounding the game does not die out, more gameplay footage will need to be released.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to rewrite the wizarding world of Harry Potter and throw students into an era of the world that has yet to be explored. So, even after the gameplay reveal, there is a lot shrouded in mystery about the world, the villains, and the other characters. With Suicide Squad’s delay, Hogwarts Legacy will get more attention from the publishers who can ensure that the game is ready to be launched come Holiday 2022.

MultiVersus

MultiVersus is basically WB Games’ competitor for games like Super Smash Bros. and will include a roster of WarnerMedia characters from Adventure Time to DC Comics. The game is set to release in 2022 and there is a lot of buzz circulating about the game. As a free-to-play multiplayer game, it is also set to rival other online games, so WB Games will need to make sure the launch of the game goes just right.

MultiVersus could become WB Games’ prized game that will receive frequent updates including new characters, locations, and even cosmetics. The game has the potential to include a huge number of characters from across the different entertainment spheres under WarnerMedia and become a crossover game for the ages. Thus, the game may require extra focus, particularly when it has the potential to become a fan favorite.

Wonder Woman

While not a lot is known about the Wonder Woman game, it may be released alongside Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This means that there is a strong possibility that Wonder Woman may also remain in the dark, at least until the release of the 2022 scheduled games. However, it would be in WB Games’ best interest to continue to release news and gameplay about this title.

Currently, the Wonder Woman game only has a short reveal trailer that showcases the character design of Wonder Woman herself. On the other hand, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, already has a lot of information out with its trailer giving more hints at the character’s abilities and powers, as well as the storyline itself. Since there is so little known about Wonder Woman, it would be good for WB Games to release some gameplay footage or a more in-depth trailer as fans wait for the first few games to release.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Getting delayed and going dark could be the best thing possible for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. While many fans will hope that not a lot will change in terms of what has already been shown, giving the developers more time to complete a game like this one is always for the best. Rushing developers and forcing them to crunch has never worked and that has become more apparent in present times with releases like No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077. The additional time could be utilized to refine the game before its release and ensure that the game feels completed and is free of major bugs and glitches.

The extra time will also give the developers a chance to ensure that they are able to recreate the superpowers of the Justice League while staying true to their comics. Many of the Justice League members, especially Superman, have powers that have been difficult to emulate in video games outside of fighting games like Injustice. To ensure that the game is not only complete but also that the powers and abilities of the characters are well-made, the developers will want to take as much extra time as they can. Plus, working outside the spotlight would ease the pressures of getting a lot of content out and would give the developers time to fix any issues in the game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is already set up as a game that could change how developers approach the superhero genre. With a focus on team-based games, WB Games could branch out to make more DC Comics games featuring popular teams to create a DC Universe within gaming. Even though the game will go dark after its delay, the focus on the other games that are coming out this year will mean more gameplay footage will most likely be revealed before its launch. However, even with this delay, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will remain one of the most anticipated games of 2023.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
